Song Of The Week: Passion Faux Pas

This week’s Song Of The Week is Passion Faux Pas from the Q & A album.

We hope you all had an awesome, relaxing and very enjoyable Memorial Day holiday weekend. We know we did, as we had a killer band practice getting ready for the upcoming show at the End Zone in Kewanee IL on June 9.

Today’s Song Of The Week covers another staple in the KayaMBeE live performance catalog, Passion Faux Pas.

His phone sits untouched well what would he say? He had a great time and he liked her a lot? With only your voice it’s harder to play What you really are than what you are not.
He plays it over and over how it will beEscapes from his cube at a quarter ‘til three
From el to cab, to get prepared
No thoughts of Monday no expenses spared
In through the front door out of his costume Out with the old and in with the new Dressed for success dictated by details Beta blockers designed for alpha males
He gets to the market, much to his dismay So many choices are out on display Looks for the girl he’s been preening for Adds drinks to his tab from the weekend before

Cosmos for this one its per her request
He fans out his feathers and puffs out his chest
It’s one for the road and two on one fare

In Prada and Gucci they make quite a pair

I don’t wanna be another one of your latest things Cuz I don’t wanna find tomorrow our love’s become passé

His phone sits untouched well what would he say?
He had a great time and he liked her a lot?

With only your voice it’s harder to play
What you really are then
What you are not

Chance Meeting At The Lucky Strike
words: Kerry Murray
music: Bert Erdmann, Kerry Murray
Kerry Murray … vocals, bass
Bert Erdmann … guitar, keyboards, backing vocals, bass
Bob Tellier … drums

On the floor…
I see you moving… you make me want to move
Just for tonight…
my libido… it vibrates with the groove
Your eyes find mine…
my pupils dilate…
 but I can’t look away
You’re built to survive…
I’m not the fittest… but I’ll try anyways
Cut through the crowd…
we’re in position… restraints have come undone
Beats so loud…
you move against me… preview of what’s to come
Packed in so tight…
so many others… yet it’s just you and me
Exit sign…
I take you by the hand… tonight the cab’s on me
Stay tonight…
forget tomorrow…it’s just a numbered square Feels so right…
c’mon girl we’re almost there
You’re place or mine…
it doesn’t matter…
we’ve seen them both before
Games for your mind…
I play along… to get you through the door
Psycho sex grind…
that’s how you need it…
 a “stranger” to adore
I know it well…
I’ve played this part… a dozen times or more
Stay tonight…
forget tomorrow…
it’s just a numbered square Feels so right…
c’mon girl we’re almost there Stay tonight…
forget tomorrow…
it’s just a numbered square
Feels so right…
c’mon girl we’re almost there

Song Of The Week: Carpe Diem

This week’s Song Of The Week is Carpe Diem from the Live And Learn album.

This  month marks the anniversary of Carpe Diem. It was THE very first song we recorded back in 2003, and ushered in the formation of KayaMBeE and the beginning of a new era for Kerry and Bert, as they ventured into original song writing and recording.
Stream the entire song for free until we’ll release the next SOTW (see the player below). Comments and referrals are very welcome, too.

Carpe Diem
words: Kerry Murray
music: Bert Erdmann
Kerry Murray … vocals
Bert Erdmann … guitar, bass, keyboards, backing vocals

I had love for you, we were a pair
When you’d walk in I’d have to stop and stare
But things changed and we fell apart
When something ends another must start
We said ‘til death do us apart
And you made a gravestone of my heart
So let’s call a spade a spade
And put an end to this mess we made
We broke down, that’s okay,
I’m exhausted by the games we play
This union is not exempt
Familiarity has bred contempt
(Seize the day now) no shame in giving in
(Seize the day now) to quit is not a sin
(Seize the day now) I claim carpe diem
We said ‘til death do us part
And you made a gravestone of my heart
So let’s call a spade a spade
And put an end to this mess we made
We had our good times, that is true
But now I do things just to avoid you
I take this entropy, gather it up and make it work for me
